Yes because it’s always good to suppress ideas you don’t agree with. What makes your ideas better than those of audists?
Perhaps you could try exercising the tolerate you preach about.

David,
I wrote a blog almost two years ago about removing Deficit Thinkers from Deafread and hell broke loose by the few apologist and their lapdogs. Now some of those have gone over to DeafVillage.com
Now many know what these deficit thinkers and apologist have done to the Deaf community. It is time to stop these deficit thinkers and apologist from demoralizing the Deaf people and tell them to go and find V/Blogsphere to their type of lifestyle.
I am beginning to wonder about the possible new Deaf Centric site, http://deafcommunity.webs.com/
Maybe this is where most of us may start going over there once they set up an aggregator to have V/Blog for the Deaf Centric community like Deafread.com once was.

We should allow room for HOH, oral success people and others who have reason to prefer other than ASL. It’s only democratic and it does work for some people.
However, this article, published in another country, represents a very old fashioned belief: ASL is out. It also implies stark, flat-out lies: Deaf children can be cured. Those who use ASL are doomed to a life of failure. Those who use ASL cannot learn to read successfully.
My heart hit the floor when I read it. There will be many people who don’t know better that who will believe it and make things more difficult for the d/Deaf community. We need to refute this article in no uncertain terms, back it up with references, and educate people about the truth. And keep on doing it. Like fighting cockroaches, we may never obliterate these lies but we must keep on doing it or they will multiply.

Hi Joe,
We are looking at two different approaches. I believe in freedom from oppression. Yes I do believe in freedom of speech as long as it does not oppress or degrade victims. I am talking about the “it” as racism, audism, sexism, ableism and many others. If we continue to allow that practice, it will harm us.
I fight for justice… and respect of humanity. Racism, audism, sexism, and others, I believe, have no place on our planet.

Hi John,
Yes deficit thinkers are the problem to our community. They have harmed us for many bad ideas and even no reason. They are colonized by audism, no question about that. I have seen clearly and we need to raise awareness of the problem that must be addressed by our community openly to deal with deficit thinkers.
We need to attack any audist/deficit thinking comment.

Hi Dianrez,
We are only targeting people who attack our way of life. Any comment of audism against us should be banned or removed.
Hard of hearing people and oral people are not a problem as long as they are not attacking Deaf Culture and ASL.
Yes I am sickened by the articles. I agree with you.

I am an ardent supporter of “freedom of expression” and “freedom of speech” in major way, but the blogsphere/vlogsphere surely leave the real challenges for us how to deal with it.
Hearing bloggers also have problems with “deficit thinkers” and “naysayers” which often ruin their whole day with unpleasant comments.
We only say to the deficit thinkers and naysayers how they will solve the existing solution(s). If not able to, then we have to terminate their comments without offering any solutions.
Handful of people usually have the sense of superiority when come to their own narrow-minded ideology without willing to see both sides and make the best out of the discussion.
Some people emailed me why I allowed the anonymous commentators left maimed messages at John Yeh and the Viable, Inc.
According to my own personal philsophy that we better allow anyone to vent out their thoughts, then they will be more likely to go away on their own.
Ideas and thoughts are not all perfect anyway. That makes our humanity to be real intereting. Too bad, there are the vanishing human species with moderate tendency to listen to every sides and call for the compromises.
Brian Riley would disagree with me. He is probably right in another way.
